Personal Information You Provide

To calculate your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) and personalized macro recommendations, MacroForge collects the following information that you voluntarily provide:

• Age: Used for BMR calculation
• Weight: Used for BMR calculation and macro tracking
• Height: Used for BMR calculation
• Gender: Used for BMR calculation (different formulas apply)
• Activity Level: Used to calculate your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE)
• Goals: Your chosen objective (bulk, maintenance, or cut) to personalize calorie recommendations
• Food Logs: The foods and macronutrients you track daily
• Custom Foods: Any custom food items you create
• Macro Plans: Your saved macro plans and preferences

Automatically Collected Information

MacroForge does not collect any analytics, usage data, device information, or tracking data. We do not use cookies, tracking pixels, or any other tracking technologies.

Your information is used exclusively on your device for the following purposes:

• Calculate your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) using the Mifflin-St Jeor equation
• Determine your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) based on your activity level
• Provide personalized calorie recommendations for bulking, maintenance, or cutting
• Track your daily food intake and macronutrient consumption
• Store your custom foods and macro plans
• Sync your data across your devices via your personal iCloud account
• Send you local notification reminders (if you enable this feature)

3. Data Storage and Security

Local Storage

All your data is stored locally on your device using SwiftData, Apple's native data persistence framework. This data includes:

• Your personal metrics (age, weight, height, gender)
• Activity level and goals
• Food logs and custom foods
• Macro plans and preferences
• Favorite foods

iCloud Sync

If you choose to enable iCloud sync on your device, your MacroForge data is automatically synchronized to your personal iCloud account using CloudKit. This allows you to access your data across all your Apple devices signed in with the same Apple ID.

Important Security Notes:

• Your iCloud data is encrypted both in transit and at rest
• Only you can access your iCloud data through your Apple ID
• We (the developers) have no access to your iCloud account or data
• Apple manages all iCloud security and encryption
• You can disable iCloud sync at any time in your device settings

4. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not:

• Use any third-party analytics services
• Integrate with advertising networks
• Connect to external APIs or servers
• Share data with social media platforms
• Sell or rent your information to anyone
• Use your data for marketing purposes

5. Your Privacy Rights

GDPR Rights (European Union)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights:

• Right to Access: All your data is accessible within the app at any time
• Right to Rectification: You can edit any of your information directly in the app
• Right to Erasure: You can delete your data by deleting the app from your device and removing it from your iCloud account
• Right to Data Portability: Your data is stored in standard formats on your device
• Right to Object: Since we don't process your data for marketing or profiling, there's nothing to object to
• Right to Restriction: You can stop using the app at any time

CCPA/CPRA Rights (California)

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights:

• Right to Know: This privacy policy discloses all data we handle
• Right to Delete: Delete the app and your iCloud data to remove all information
• Right to Opt-Out of Sale: We never sell your personal information

• Honoring "Do Not Track" signals (though we don't track in the first place)

6. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Age Requirement: MacroForge is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided information to MacroForge:

• Delete the app from their device immediately
• Remove the app data from their iCloud account
• Contact us at the email below if you have concerns

For Users Aged 13-17: We recommend that parents or guardians review this privacy policy and the app with their teens before use. All data remains private and under the teen's control via their Apple ID.

7. Notifications

MacroForge may request permission to send you local notifications to remind you to log your meals. These notifications:

• Are generated entirely on your device
• Do not transmit any data to external servers
• Can be disabled at any time in your device settings or within the app
• Do not track whether you open them or interact with them

8. Data Retention

Your data is retained as follows:

• On Your Device: Data remains until you delete the app
• In iCloud: Data syncs remain until you delete them from your iCloud account
• After Deletion: Once you delete the app and remove iCloud data, all information is permanently erased

We do not have access to your data, so we cannot delete it for you. You maintain complete control over your data at all times.

9. International Data Transfers

MacroForge does not transfer data internationally because:

• All data is stored locally on your device
• iCloud data is managed by Apple in accordance with their privacy policy and data residency rules
• We do not operate servers or databases that would require international transfers

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in:

• App features or functionality
• Legal requirements or regulations
• Industry best practices

When we make changes:

• The "Last Updated" date at the top will be revised
• Significant changes will be communicated through an in-app notification
